Here's How It Happened, Part Four.........

After talking to God about my fear and hesitation of going on this trip without Shannon, I opened up my Journey devotional book for women.

The title of the devotional that I read for that day was "Step Out of the Boat." The verse that this day's message was based on was from the book of Matthew.

"You of little faith, why did you doubt?" ~Matthew 14:31

Here's what the author said at the end of the passage:
"If you want to grow, there will be times when God will ask you to exercise extreme faith, and step out of your comfort zone, and trust Him completely. And the only way He can do that is to call you to a fearful place--a place where it's just you and God, and you have to step out of the boat."

God used this verse and message to encourage me and calm my fears about going without Shannon. There is a reason that He wants me to go alone on this journey. My only prayer is that I honor Him on this journey. I pray that I would say and do only the things that He wants me to do. I pray that I fulfill whatever purpose He has for me on this unbelievable blessing of a trip.

Needless, to say, I am very excited.
My family and friends are excited for me as well.......My family is a little concerned about me being gone for twenty-four days in a row......Mainly because that is twenty-four days of cooking, laundry, dog wiping, and housekeeping that I won't be around to take care of.:)

I am looking forward to spending so much time with Melissa as well......We are both very curious to see what God has in store for us throughout this journey.

Shannon is a little concerned that I will go through serious "blogging withdrawals," since I will not be able to post or read blogs for twenty-four days in a row. (Sigh)

Well, there is so much more that I could tell you, but after four back to back posts, I'm sure you have had enough.........But there's a few things that I didn't mention, that I probably should. I leave on May 17th and I will return home on June 9th. When I leave for this trip, it will be my first time to ever ride in a cab, be on a cruise ship, or ride on a train.

As a matter of fact, it will be my first time to ever fly in a plane.......The End!:)
