A Curly Hair Do And A Gourmet Dinner

I must say that traveling with your friend/hair stylist definitely has its perks.

I highly recommend it.

Several nights during our cruise Melissa fixed my hair for dinner.

Melissa and I were nothing exactly like Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves.

After a busy fun-filled day in Croatia, Melissa treated me to a "curly" hair do.
It's very Charlie's Angels....don't you think? (I'll need you to just ignore my big sunburned forehead once again. Thanks!)

I loved it!

I have never felt so pampered in all of my life.

And as if having my hair done by Ken Melissa wasn't enough....I got to put on a pretty dress, sit in a fancy restaurant, and be served a gourmet meal.

I don't remember what this "Starter" was called, but it was so yummy.
I realize it looks a little odd. I was unsure about it myself when I first saw it, but trust me when I tell you, "It was delicious!"

My main course was chicken with mashed carrots and chickpeas. I cannot even imagine how long it took the chef to arrange the chicken this way, but it definitely made a statement. I'm not sure exactly what statement it made, but it was saying something. I felt bad knocking all of that chicken over so that I could eat it....but not for long. :)

It was very good.

And since no meal on a cruise ship would be complete without dessert...I chose pecan pie to complete my meal. And complete my meal it did! This pecan pie was very different; it had orange and chocolate all mixed together with the pecans.

Mmmmmmmmmmm!

And if that wasn't enough, after eating that gourmet meal.....I got to leave the table, no questions asked.

That's right...I did not have to touch a dish....

And I loved it!

A girl could definitely get used to living this way.

I'm just saying is all.

Does the bathing suit still fit after all that indulgence?

I've gained 10 pounds just be viewing the tasty treasures.

How neat to have someone to fix your hair every day!
My mom and I went on a cruise once and you're right....the food is delicious and so pretty.

Okay...many things... I love your hair!!!!!!!!!!!! But I'm sure you wouldn't love to fix it every day like that. Something about how someone else can fix our hair a certain way but we can't. Go figure.

Second, I'm glad you've already eaten your first course because my mind is going crazy at what the two brown things look like. Oh, how the smell and actual looks had to be better than what I'm thinking. I won't share it but hopin' you know and it would be the end product of eating. Sorry!!!!!!!

Third, that dessert. The details of the chocolate drops and then that triangle of chocolate with a hole in the middle. Can you imagine having to prepare many, many of these desserts at once.
I love pecan and I bet the orange just topped it off. Yum-EE.

Sorry for the digression on the appetizer. Hope everyone's had their breakfast or lunch. Hey, I'm about to chow on my cream of wheat.
Love,
Paula

Wow! Looks like you had tons of fun.

My husband and I went on a cruise several years back, and I must admit that I found the food a little strange. Unfortunately, I do not venture out much in the area of food, so I ate the at the hamburger grill everyday before we went to the dining room. My husband loved the different dishes that they brought every night... and I enjoyed my burger and fries. What a waste, huh?? We still had a great time. We would love to go back sometime.

You looked sooo pretty!! A little pampering is ALWAYS great!! Every 6 months or so I get me hair cut and highlighted and I just love having Kelly wash my hair....its like heaven!! It's only every 6 months cause it's sooo expensive and on my SAHM salary, that's about all I can afford : )
That cruise food looks soooo yummy!!Especially that pecan pie!! Thx for sharing!

Tee-hee....it does look a little Charlie Angels :)

And I'm prolly wrong for this, but that first dish looks a little obscene to me ;)

Oh, and I have to tell you this story. We went out to eat this weekend for father's day and there was a guy in the restaurant, eating alone, and I swear he took out his cell phone and took a picture of his meal......I sooooo thought of you and Melissa. HA!!

That pie looks DELISH!!
