Just to give you an even better appreciation for just "how blue" it really is, look at this picture of the water in Venice and compare it to the picture below it of the Mediterranean Sea.
It is truly beautiful!
I've said it before, but it is worth repeating....."Well done, God!" Amen?
So what's a girl to do after spending a day in the sun getting freakishly sunburned?
Well, I wondered that same thing, so after much thought, I decided to get all dressed up and go to dinner. And since I was freakishly sunburned, I was so thankful that I had brought my shawls for the dining room. I had to cover all of that nasty red skin up!
(And Kenny if you're still awake, remember, that is not a table runner wrapped around my shoulders; it is a shawl, thank you very much.;))
Each night before dinner, Melissa and I would take our picture together. (Remember I warned you all at the beginning of all these trip posts that you would just have to ignore us sometimes. This is another one of those times.:))
But this night at dinner, we also took pictures of the sweet people that were in our group; they ate dinner with us almost every night of the cruise.
This is Margaret, and her husband Chuck, and Margaret's mother, Kay. (Just so you know, this is the family that kept us from being abandoned in Croatia. They told Count Dracula that he could not just leave us there. Thank you Margaret, Chuck, and Kay!)
This adorable couple is Barbara and David. They were so lovely. (They made me miss Shannon; just look at how much they adore each other. Sigh.) The last day of our cruise was their 41st wedding anniversary. Sigh.
And last, but certainly not least, is Peter and Jenny; they were sweethearts. (I sat next to Peter every night. I love him. I think he reminded me a lot of my dad, so I took to him right away. Every night I was picking stuff off of him...like lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc. He was always getting food on his shirt (like me), so I would get it off his shirt for him. I liked to tease him by asking him, "You weren't saving this for later were you?" He was so funny and kind to me.)
Now for the food......
I told them to go to the kitchen and fix me a dang quesadilla!
(Just ignore me....I live with two teenage boys, so we are always quoting Napoleon Dynamite. Sorry.)
This starter was a "Chicken Quesadilla." It was served with guacomole and salsa too.
It was delicious!
For my main course I had some form of chicken. (It had a fancy name, I just don't remember it.) It was served with green beans, potatoes, and this red stuff. (Again, I can't remember the name of the red stuff, but it was a fancy name.)
And as you already know, no meal on a cruise ship would be complete without dessert.
This night I ordered a slice of diet lemon cake. (Again, it had a fancy name, but I can't remember it.) This dessert was very light and refreshing, and just look at the artwork made entirely out of edible syrups. I felt bad messing all that artwork up.....but not for long.;)
Mmmmmmmmm!
While we were
Here is Gusti dancing in true Ricky Ricardo style. Gusti is from Bali.
And Ioan joined in on the fun as well. Ioan is from Romania.
Ioan and Gusti were wonderful! They were so nice and funny; Melissa and I looked forward to seeing them each night.
Well, after
Here it is, but I don't know what it is, do you?
If you know the answer, please let me know. I'm afraid I don't have any special prize or money to offer the first person who knows the answer, but you could just walk away from the computer knowing that you are the smartest person in all of blog land.
I'm just saying is all.

I had to get up early but I did it again!!! I even beat Sandra here!!!
Its not enough that you show us wonderful views of the Med. Sea and beautiful landscapes...now you have to torture us with pics of yummy food!
Oh Amy you have some really good skills!
Hope you are feeling better today : )
That dadgum Mia beat me to the punch, didn't she! :)
But I'll let her get by with it!!!
My guess on the towel is a kimodo dragon ????
Your pictures were wonderful as usual, Venice just looks AWESOME!!!
I think you were attracted to Peter because he reminds you a little of your beloved Granddaddy - what do you think? I'm so glad you had these wonderful people to be around. I hope you will be in touch with them again some time.
Love you much! Hope you feel better today and get that stupid insurance problem worked out - just shouldn't be. I'm saying is all. :)
Love you!!
Mom :)
I would have to say its a camoto dragon. Excuse my spelling, my two year old is yanking on my shirt for lego snacks. The water in Venice is that color, because all sewers lead to the Ocean. Hence, the lovely wonderful color. On really bad days, it smells like it as well. All of Italy will not go in the Ocean, since that is the case everywhere here. We pay 10-20 Euro to go sit on the beach and look at the water. If you get in, you can get really sick, or get some kind of parasite. I think I will stick with the pool, thank you! Beautiful pictures though. It's fun driving towards Rome and looking at the Ocean, you can't beat that beautiful color of Blue.
Wow, that is REALLY blue!! I love it! :)
We loved the waiters on our cruise as well...they have great personalities.
Well two of the previous say dragon; however, I think it could be a turtle sitting up with his head propped out. It could've been the "towel maker" didn't know how to make a laying turtle so he's sitting....take a look again...you'll see. :-)
The blue is out of this world. Did you notice--oh, I'm sure you did--how in your first pic the blue water and blue sky compliment each other so well? How can there not be a creator...ya wonder what "elements" or contents make one body of water so blue and one green. Just amazing.
You, girl, were really burnt. I can see how red your chest is in the pic with the table cloth...I mean shawl, Kenny.
I love that colorful artistic design on your dessert plate.
I will go ahead and forever give your mom, Sandra, and mia the earliest award. You will never see me as the first commenter UNLESS you post a wee bit later. On my computer it says Mia posted at 4:46am. I'm saw some good ol' logs at 4:46am. So, Mia and Sandra, I am NOT your competition. You have no fear with me "beating" you.
Love to all of you, beautiful friends.
Paula
Ok, Im packing my bags. What kind of cruise was this?
I agree with you about the Mediterranean Sea, it is simply breathtaking. I have never seen such blue water. It is hard to describe and the pictures just dont' do it justice.
I think the towel animal is a dinosaur. What can I say, I have a 3 y/o boy. :)
Gina
I agree, that water is the most amazing blue! I have no clue what the towel animal is...I was gonna guess Turkey.
Amy,
I'm thinking the towel animal is an alligator. It looks as though we all have different ideas. Beautiful pictures of the Sea. Good job, God! He is an amazing artist.
Blessings,
Nicole
Beautiful water....fun people...great food...cute waiters....I think it's a turtle!!!
Great pics! The water is sooo blue. Just beautiful! I'm afraid that my family would have filed a missing person report because I wouldn't have wanted to leave such a beautiful place.
Wow, it all looks so beautiful. Oh I know what animal it is, why its a Condelise barking spider of course, can't you tell? ;o)
I agree with Gina & I don't have a 3 yr. old :) but my first thought was a dinosaur. I can't imagine why they'd have that on a cruise ship though??
Oh my...the water is beautiful.
My mom and I went on a cruise years and years ago. I got so sunburned and I tried to put on make up to cover it, which doesn't work. It was the night of the Captain's dinner and we got our picture taken with him. OMG! I looked so terrible!
I'm so happy you were able to see so much of God's wonderful creation. What a trip of a lifetime.
Love,
Valerie
Well, you really have me stumped on this towel animal...it looks like it has a dragon tail, but the underneath looks muscular and lobsterish. The neck is long enough to be a turtle and I can see what looks like a shell on the back but the nose area looks like an alligator. So I'm going to take a stab at this and say that it's a new species of animal called
dragurtalobstigator.
I love reliving this adventure with you :)
