I not only need a bathing suit, I also need some "dress-up" clothes.
And as I've mentioned before , since I am a stay-at-home mom, I don't get dressed up
I don't even know where to begin shopping for dressy clothes, or as some people like to call them "Evening Wear".
The only places I usually buy clothes at are Target and Wal-Mart. And let's face it......if you're buying clothes and ground beef at the same time, chances are the clothes are not going to be dressy. I'm just saying is all.
My idea of "dressing up" is a pair of jeans
Getting dressed up also usually requires a nice hair-do and make-up. As a general rule I only wear mascara and lip gloss, and I wear my hair in a clippie. I am not very good at applying my own make-up or fixing my own hair. No matter how hard that I try, I just never seem to get the look that I'm going for. My hair-do's turn into hair-don'ts, and I have never been able to make my make-up appear
So anyway, my trip date is looming ahead of me and I am sitting here wondering, "What am I going to wear?"
I can't even seem to get motivated enough to go try any clothes on. (Maybe it's a little post traumatic stress from the last time I was in a public dressing room.)
If I wait much longer though, I am going to be in trouble. I don't want to wear just any old dress I see hanging in a store window.....do you know what I mean?
But...."I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow."

Amy,
You are too funny! I hadn't read the bathing suit story so I had to click over to that. Oh my gosh...I've got to get a new one this year and I dread it so much. I really think I need the Golden Girls suit...LOL!
And it's just not right to be reprimanded by another adult. That happened to me several years ago...long story...but it was at work and I cried all afternoon...everytime I would think about it. It wasn't something I'd done wrong, it was just a comment.
The song (Everlasting God) from my blog is always on the radio and I also love the last part with the child reciting from Isaiah.
I was having a very difficult time with You Tube at first...getting it on my blog. I had another song first that would not...never did...show up for me. I guess this song was the one I was suppposed to put on there.
Lastly, how do you do that cute thing on your blog where you cross out words? There is so much for me to learn to do to spruce my blog up.
I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Do you have a Stein Mart in your area? They have some really cute, unique clothes. Also, Dillards or Macy's probably would have dressy things.
Good luck!
Have a great week.
Love,
Valerie
Sorry but it's byop this week. (Bring Your Own Plate) LOL!
LOL! You are so funny! I love the "Ugly Girl" pic. I use to watch that show all of the time when it aired in the 90's. We have the same designer, Le Wal de Mart.
Well, you can't go wrong with a simple black dress and some cute accessories. Works for me esp. when I'm so indecisive which is 90% of the time.
I'm laughing, once again. You tell the best stories about real stuff!!
Try Penneys, I've seen some cute things there...
Thanks for the helpful hint. I'll try it soon. I've gotta get off here and get ready for work. :(
Just trying to put that You Tube song on here yesterday just about made me lose my religion. :)
I'd better wait until I have plenty of time to mess with it.
Thanks & have a great day!
Love,
Val
Ha...I love Carol Burnett and that Curtain dress!!!!!
wow! I needed a good giggle this morning and you sure did deliver Amy!
I too have found something not quite right about buying my clothes the same place as I buy cat food, toliet paper and mayonaise!!
LOL!! I love reading your blog. You make me laugh out loud all the time. My dh even enjoys your posts. I hope you find what you need. :)
Gina

Hi Amy, I found your blog through one of your comments on Olive Plants (Allison) blog. I feel so old! I REMEMBER watching that show with my mother, as she LOVED that show! Thanks for the memory Amy (and the laugh).
Thanks for stopping by , Lori.
I enjoyed that show growing up myself.
I like reading "Olive Plants" too.
Have a blessed day!
I have seen that clip, its is so funny, and I know what you mean.
Make up - not problem for me, I studied it, but clothes, they dont have a huge variety of "fat chick" evening wear here, so I usually end up making my own.
