Inside The Actor's Blogger's Studio

Today I am sharing with you all a brand new episode of "Inside The Actor's Blogger's Studio."

You may remember my first episode featured the one and only, Mia!

Well, I had so much fun interviewing Mia, that I decided to do another interview with another very special guest.

No, it's not Robert Redford, silly! (But could you please keep praying about that for me? Thanks!)

Today's guest is a very special lady. She is a wife, mother, daughter, employee, friend, and a blogging extraordinaire!

She has three different blogs, and I love all of them.
The first time that I read one of her blog posts, I laughed out loud so much, that my husband wanted in on it. I read the post out loud to him, and he was laughing as much as I was. Click here to read this funny post about why you should never sit in the back of a bus.

This lady is also as thoughtful as she is funny. I recently did a post about her humor and thoughtfulness to me. Click here if you would like to read it.

So join me in welcoming one of the most amazing women in Blog Land! It is with great pleasure that I introduce you all to........Yvette!

(Standing ovation with thunderous applause!)

Yvette, thank you so much for being a guest on "Inside The Actor's Blogger's Studio." I am honored that you have agreed to be here today.

And since I know that you are a very busy lady, I will get right to the interview.

1. What is your favorite word?
I'm not sure that I have a single favorite word but, being a mother of two,
with a husband who is often gone, I would guess that one of my most commonly
used words would be the word NOW. So for example, it would go a little
something like this...

Girls, it's time for us to go....."NOW!"
Go clean your room....."NOW!"
Turn the TV off and go to bed......."NOW!"

This always being said after already being told/asked politely, at least 3
or 4 times.

2. What is your least favorite word?
I would have to say that my least favorite word would be any word that is said in a manner that was meant to be demeaning; and I know this sounds so 'cliché, but the word I hate the most is the 'N' word.

I hate that word. I cringe every time I hear it.

3. What makes you laugh out loud?
I like to laugh - often times at myself. My husband also makes me laugh - he is so darn funny and sometimes without even trying.

My children - whenever they do something cute; like when they try to use a new, more grown up, word but they use it in the wrong context or they use the wrong word altogether. I LOVE THAT!!

4. What makes you cry?
Almost nothing. I think my emotional buttons are broken, like Amanda in "The Holiday".

I do not like to cry, at all, but sometimes I think I might feel better if I did cry, but I can't.

Then there are times when I don't want to cry, but I do; then I get mad at myself because I'm crying - this is the most common scenario but not a very common occurrence.

Saying all this, I don't think that I answered the question. Sooooo, I think the most common reason for me to cry is usually when I'm extremely mad about something and I can't "express" myself like I want to.

5. What is your favorite "country" word or phrase?
I guess it would have to be "fixin'" I'm always fixin' to do something or fixin' to go somewhere.

6. What sound or noise do you love?
There are many beautiful sounds on this Earth, but none greater that the sound of my children's laughter.

7. What sound or noise do you hate?
The sound of someone clipping their nails.....BLECH!!! To me, that's like fingernails scrapping down a chalk-board.

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I would like to be sufficiently self employed, doing something creative, like a party planner or an event coordinator. I also think I would make an excellent day care director.

I have a dream of opening up a business in a house and turning it into a huge playground where kids can
draw on the walls, jump on the beds, hang from the chandeliers, etc. and not get in trouble for it.

9. What profession would you not like to attempt?
Waste Management

10. What profession have you attempted before that not many people know
about?

I once tried to be a stripper for my husband but, it turns out, I'm not very coordinated so I had to give it up. Does that count??

Guess my mom didn't name me Grace for a reason. (good thing I never tried to do this professionally. I'd be broke) tee-hee-hee!

11. What is your favorite memory of being a mother?
There are so many wonderful memories that being a mother has blessed me with. It's hard to narrow them down to just one favorite. I don't know if this qualifies for a favorite memory of "being" a mother - it's more like my favorite memory of "becoming" a mother.

It was 1996 and I was pregnant with my first child. Chaun and I had decided that we weren't going to find out what we were having. We had two names picked out, one for a boy and one for a girl. I was on the operating table, with a blue sheet covering all but my neck and head. I could feel them working, tugging and pulling. Chaun was more interested in watching the doctors work than he was in comforting me. Then the baby was out and Chaun leaned down and proudly said, "It's a girl, babe."

I will never forget that feeling. It is absolutely indescribable - like looking at a Christmas package for nine months, waiting for the day to arrive when you can open it, wondering what it is, hoping it's something you asked for and finally it's here and it no longer matters if it's what you asked for because it's exactly what you wanted.

12. What is your most embarrassing memory of being a mother?
I'm sure that I have had plenty of embarrassing moments as a mother, but the only thing that comes to mind is the time that I took Kayla to a birthday party.

The birthday was for the daughter of what is now one of my best friends, but at the time we were just getting to know each other and the party was at the Soprano's her In-Laws house (her now Ex-In-Laws). Not to talk about her In-Laws, but I'll just say that I didn't get a very good first impression.

Kayla had to be about three years old and I was several pounds lighter.

Out of the blue, she slapped both hands on my much thinner pooch and exclaimed, loudly, "My mommy's so fat."

I wanted to crawl under a rock and never come out.

13. What does your husband do that gets on your nerves?
He doesn't 'take the bait'.

You know us women...We get in our funky moods and sometimes, we want to pick a fight.

He NEVER takes the bait. It's really hard to have an argument when you're the only one talking ;)

14. What does your husband do for you that makes your heart melt?
He cooks, he cleans, he goes to the grocery store - all of the things that I hate doing.

But, the thing that makes my heart melt is watching his interaction with our girls - they absolutely adore him and he them.

15. If you could tell a complete stranger about what God has done in your life, what would you say?
I think I would just tell them to look at how blessed I am - I have my health, my wonderful husband, my children and their health, the love we have for each other, the love and loyalty of my friends, etc. - and know that it's all because of Him.

16. What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Psalms 127:3
Children are a gift from the Lord.
They are a reward from him.

I think that we, as parents, sometimes get so busy and caught up in working, paying the bills, cleaning the house, etc. that we sometimes forget that our children are a blessing from God. We should take the time away from the stresses of our everyday lives to spend with them and appreciate what a blessing they really are. Spend some quality time together, talking, playing, creating memories; life is not guaranteed but the work, the bills, the dirty house - they will all still be there tomorrow. Your children will be grown and gone before you know it.

17. Since we know that Heaven exists, what do you long to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? Welcome Home, Yvette!

Yvette, thank you so much for being here today. I have really enjoyed getting to know you even more. I hope you will be okay with me "stalking" you a little bit more in Blog Land; I have a lot of your older posts to catch up on.
Thank you for brightening up my days with your humor and thoughtfulness. You are a treasure, Friend!

(Standing ovation with thunderous applause!)
