Grilling Goodness With Tina And Friends~ 2

It's that time again...Time for some more "Grilling Goodness With Tina And Friends."

So, without further ado, I'll get right to the grilling.

1. What can cheer you up when you're feeling grumpy?

Just kidding.;)

A lot of things can cheer me up...For instance a Starbucks Grande Mocha Frappuccino Light with no whip but a dome lid for Amy will definitely do the trick. Of course, a hug and a kiss from my sweet hubby always lifts my spirits, and I love nothing better than piling up on the couch with all 3 of my boys, watching something funny on television, and just laughing out loud. And last, but certainly not least, I always feel better after loving on my Allie Girl.

2. Give one feature that could make or break the deal if you were shopping for a new home.

We have always lived in the same house in Crazyville for our entire marriage, but if we were ever in the market for a new home, I would definitely not be interested in buying a house in which my bedroom or living room would be hanging off the side of the house like this one.

Shiver.

3. What's the craziest thing you've ever let your children eat for breakfast?

Don't judge. I gave them milk to drink with the Cheez Balls.

4. If you are a 'watch what you eat' kind of person, share a meal or dish that makes it easier to diet.

I don't understand the question.

I'm just teasing.;)

I'll share a recipe that Shannon and I like. And if you all are interested, I might make it in the near future and post about it...with step by step nonsense pictures to go along with it, of course.

It is called Tabbouleh. (Click here for the recipe.) Shannon and I like to add some chicken to it also, to give it a little more bulk. It's a very tasty and filling meal, but it does not have a lot of calories.

5. Is there something you used to do as a child that you would never let your children do now?

When my best friend and I were growing up, we used to love to play restaurant. Taco Bell specifically. We would gather up magnolia leaves to be our taco shells. Flower bed soil would serve as our ground beef. Lettuce was whatever weeds we could get our hands on. And our cheese came in the form of marigolds (however many we could steal without getting caught).

Of course, back in the day, that was all good, (sort of) clean fun. With the exception of one thing. Seeing as how we were running a restaurant and everything, we had to have a counter top available to serve all of our customers. And since we were forced to play outside, there were obviously no counter tops just lying around, so we had to use whatever we could find.

After searching around, this is what we came up with.

We just flipped the lid for the garbage can over and used it as our serving area.

Can you imagine? I should probably point out, that it was not a sparkly clean garbage can like the one that you see in this picture. It was a nasty one that was full of that weeks garbage. But we used it every single time we played Taco Bell.

If you want to stop reading this blog now, I completely understand.

6. If you have a daughter, are her ears pierced? When did you allow it?

Well, I do have one daughter, my favorite Allie Girl, but I'm pretty certain we will never get her ears pierced.

But since I am a girl, I can tell you when I got my ears pierced, I was about 14 years old. My best friend's sister was a nurse for a plastic surgeon in Crazyville, so she brought home the ear piercing gun from work and pierced my ears in my best friend's bedroom.

Oh, don't act so shocked! It was all perfectly safe and legitimate. And since I am one of those kind of girls that likes to get all the pain over with very quickly, she went ahead and gave me two holes in each ear. My mom was a little shocked when I came home with four new earrings in my ears.....But over time, she learned to love them.
;)

7. Are you the only person in your house who changes the TP roll??

Excuse me, you mean other people can change it? Uhhhh, I did not know that, but I will be letting three people know about this mind breaking concept as soon as I finish typing this post!

8. How old were you when you no longer lived with a parent(s) for the first time?

I can't remember exactly, but I was about nineteen or twenty when I moved out to Crazyville with Shannon.

Sigh.

That's all for this week folks! But for more "Grilling Goodness With Tina And Friends," click here, and if you would like to, join in the fun!

lol- I am glad you are not expermenting with Allie, by piercing her ears..lol.

That food item looks delish but not very filling. It would be great with chips...like a salsa without the juice...that tends to drip everywhere anyway, huh?

I love that pic of you and Shannon...outdoors with the trees.

I love your story about playing restaurant. Did you not have dandilions back in those days? When you wrote marigolds, I was actually thinking in my head dandilions and was wondering why you would have to steal them or rather than anyone would mind you stealing them.

I don't even remember having a Taco Bell at my age. Maybe my momma hid that treasure from me. haha.

Love ya,
Paula

Cheese for breakfast! What could be bad? : )
Also love the Taco Bell story. Wasn't sure where you were going with that...maybe you didn't want your kids to work in fast food? LOL!
Have a great day sister!!!!

This was so much fun to read. Although I just can't get the Taco Bell trash can out of my head.

Cheeseballs with milk. :) My mom used to fix scrambled eggs and give us milk, I still cant stomach that combo. I think it's a consistency thing.

Oh my sweet friend, you are so funny. And we were all young and all did strange things with unhygenic refuse objects. I cant think of any just now personally, but I'm sure there were some.

So do you still wear all your earrings or do you wear any earrrings at all anymore?

Hey if you can have chocolate for breakfast, you can have cheese too I say.

Hugs!

Hope today goes well.

1. What?? No picture of the Kid caught in a thunderstorm?? I'm just sayin.

2. Yeah, I would have to agree...that would be odd.

3. LOL! What are you saying?? Aren't Cheez Balls a nutritional source of calcium??

4. Okay, so being honest...this doesn't look like anything I eat so if you ever wanna serve this dish when I come to your part of Crazyville you can have my portion of all this 'stuff' and just give me the chicken. :D

5. LOL! How creative!! As long as you two weren't actually 'eating' these taco's I think it's all good. ;)

6. Glad you haven't pierced her ears...she prolly wouldn't like that much - but it could be a new fad. HA!!

7. ROFLOL!!! I was shocked too!!

8. Looks like crazyville agrees with you :D

Hey,I'm late reading this but it was good! I LOVE THAT PICTURE OF YOU AND SHANNON! It's BEAUTIFUL!
I can remember coming home the day you and Tracy made clover chains and the whites of your eyes were swollen! UGH! Scared me to death!

When we were kids, we would make hot tamales out of mud and pages from the Sears & Roebuck catalog! We made "greens" with dandelion greens and if they sat for a while in water, UGH, the smell was horrendous!!

And then there as the time that we made Judy be Cheetah when we played Tarzan!

LOVE YOU!!!

Mom :)

I love your reaction to the toilet paper question. Too funny! I have to spread the news as well in my home. Maybe I can teach Teddy, our chocolate lab. He's pretty smart.

That must be one of the best pictures of MW ever...love when you use it! :)

2. Me either...could NOT deal with a room like that!

3. With milk or IN MILK!!?! LOL...CHEESE balls, they have dairy in them, right?? LOL

5. Ok, Ew!!

8. And you're STILL a lovely couple!

You played Taco Bell??? On a garbage can lid??? I love you, Amy! You always make me smile. I'm behind on my blogging (as usual). Pray for me...I'm getting ready to do a speaking engagement this weekend (yikes!--who would want to hear me?) and obsessing about it doesn't seem to be making me any more prepared.
Sigh. I need some prayer. And a little time. Time would be nice. Hey--I think I know the Guy in charge of that...Didn't he stop the sun once?

Amy; Can I just tell you, you are my kind of people! Love you girl!!

Hi, Amy. Saw what you wrote. We went together to a Taco Bell for the first time when we were in NY.

And 2 studs in each ear? well, go for it, of course. Even a tasteful little faith related tattoo is often regarded as quite mainstream for some Christian ladies, so the double ear piercing thing is almost conservative now, I guess. (Maybe 3 in each ear wouldn't be, but what do I know? ...)

Take care.
