Frankly Scarlet, I Love You....And Melissa Too!

Since I have been busy all summer with my back injury, surgery, and nerve damage nonsense, I have not been able to get together with Melissa for a girl's lunch. As a matter of fact, we have not seen each other since our trip, except for when Shannon, the boys, and I get our hair done.

So, Tuesday, Melissa and I were finally able to meet for lunch. Complete, of course, with great food, lots of girl talk and several photo ops.

We decided to meet at a great little Thai restaurant in Crazyville called Bangkok Alley.

And as usual, I am chronically early to everything, so I had a few minutes by myself before Melissa got there. So, I decided to take a few pictures. First and foremost, I wanted the tens of you who read this blog to know that I managed to leave the house with matching shoes on this time. If you look closely, you will notice that both of my shoes are brown.

I was sitting on a bench just like this one while I was waiting for Melissa.

Luckily, for the tens of you reading this, Melissa got there only a few minutes after me, so I stopped taking pictures of my shoes and outdoor benches.

Once we were seated though, I took a picture of the little "waterfall pot" that we were seated next to. Isn't it cute? It had a very peaceful sound. We enjoyed sitting outside to eat, because it was such a beautiful day.

And no meal out with Melissa would be complete without our meal starting photo.

Some things will never change...Thank goodness.;)

As soon as we were seated and done with our picture taking nonsense (or at least until the food was served), Melissa surprised me with this package. Isn't it pretty? I was so tickled with the bag, that I couldn't even imagine what was inside of it.

Then when I opened it, my eyes bugged out of my head, and I'm not sure, but I think I passed out momentarily.

That sweet Melissa of mine bought me a Vera Bradley purse, in none other than my beloved Frankly Scarlet.

Isn't she beautiful?

Sigh.

I was tickled pink and red!;)

What a sweet surprise! And Tina, if you're reading this, you can rest easy my friend. You no longer have to worry about me stealing yours. (Well, you might still have to worry about your Frankly Scarlet accessories, but your purse should be safe. For now anyway.) ;)

After opening my Vera Bradley in Frankly Scarlet, it was time to eat our soup.

I know that this picture is a little blurry, but I was still breathing heavily from all of the Vera Bradley in Frankly Scarlet excitement.

If you look closely, you will probably notice that our server forgot to give us silverware.
Melissa is laughing and saying, "Spoons, spoons...spoons would be good here."

I was hoping she would ask for some, because I did not want to have to slurp the soup. As messy as I am, I would get more soup on me, than in me.

Isn't Melissa pretty? I think that is probably why our server forgot to give us silverware. It would just give him another opportunity to talk to Melissa.

I'm just saying.

Well, he did bring us silverware, and then he also brought us our spring rolls.

As I was eating mine, my eyes kept rolling back in my head.

I heart spring rolls, a lot!

And as if Vera Bradley in Frankly Scarlet, soup with spoons, and spring rolls weren't already enough....Then they brought out our main courses.

I don't remember what these dishes were called, but I can tell you this, they were delicious!

Melissa ordered all of this yummy goodness....

And I ordered all of this deliciousness that you see here.....

After gorging ourselves on great food and even better conversation, I asked Melissa if she would like to top it all off by going to Starbucks, and she said, "Yes!"

(That was music to my ears, I tell you.)

So, my blissful afternoon lunch with my sweet Melissa ended with another one of my favoritest things in the whole wide world.

A Starbucks Grande Mocha Frappuccino Light, no whip, with a dome lid, for Amy.

Sigh.

Scarlet and I are going to have to get together with Melissa a lot more often.;)

And Melissa, if you are reading this, I love you, friend! Or as Clairee Belcher says, "I love ya more than my luggage." :)

My cup runneth over.

What a fun day with a sweet friend.
How nice of Melissa to surprise you with such a nice gift. She is beautiful inside and out.

I love, love, love pictures. I'm a visual person and I love details.
I'm glad you share so many visuals. :)

The lunch looked delicious.
My cousin married a Chinese girl and one time when we were passing through their town while traveling she made spring rolls that were to die for!

I also love the sound of water.
I have a little fountain in my front flower bed and the other day I sat on the sofa, opened the window so I could hear it, and had my quiet time. It was so relaxing and peaceful.

And to end your day with Starbucks....perfect!

P.S. Yay for matching shoes! ;)

Be blessed again today, Amy!!
Love,
Val

Do I see a couple bags of cookies behind that Frap? hehe

I love me some spring rolls also. Spring not egg. There is a huge difference. Spring have seemingly multiple thin crisp, flaky rolls. Mmmm...wonder where I could get me some good SPRING rolls? Yum.

You and Mel really do look alike...the shape of your faces and eyes.

Glad you had such a lovely day. Oh, I love the kind of weather that permits very comfortable eating outside.
Luv2u,
Paula

And your shoe pictures make me laugh out loud. I have on one black sock and one blue sock today... all in honor of you. Just kidding, they were the only ones clean. :)

Friends... they are to live for huh?? What would we do without them??

Sounds like you had a great time. There is nothing like a "girl lunch". My last one lasted for almost 8 hours. It is about time for another one...

Oh, what a beautiful day you had with your friend. You are so good at collecting all of your memories and sharing them with us. Glad you had a game you so deserved.

Oh I'm so happy you got reated to your Vera Bradley purse, I know you've wanted it for so long now. Melissa is such a sweetie to you.

I have to say, I think we have reached the first speed bump on our friendship road, I don't like spring rolls, I can just feel my artereis cloggin up as I look at that spring roll. The spring rolls here are very oily, so maybe I'll just have to come there and see if the ones in Crazyville are oily too. I'm sure they will be fabulous, and you can show me all the right ones to eat so I don't need to line my stomach with a layer of milk before eating them.

Now being a Starbucks virgin, do they write your name on the cup for you or do you get cups that have Amy printed on them? Or do you and Melissa just carry permamant markers around in your purses for such Starbucks emergencies?

So what exactly was that food you had anyway, it looks like rice salad or kuss kuss or something?

Oh I hope you and and your fabu new purse will have a long and happy partnership, and bless sweet Melissa for spoilong you like that.

Big hugs and misses, and kisses too.

Mwah dahlink!

Wow! I need a friend like Melissa! Or my husband needs to make more money! Or we need to get less clothes for my kids, so that I can get a new Vera Bradley bag! I've been thinking about you and hope that you are well. Glad to hear that you able to walk in the woods with Shannon; enjoy all that you are able to. Praise God for His goodness.

Your friend, Wanda
