Another Update On My Dad, Mom, And Me

"A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book." ~Irish Proverb

Yesterday was the two week mark since my dad's surgery. So, my mom took him to see his surgeon, and he had his staples removed. He called me after his appointment, and I could hear the relief in his voice. He was so glad to have all of those staples out of his body.

Later yesterday afternoon, he called me, and I could hear in his voice that he was really feeling well. He had just swept out the floor of the garage. He was proud, because that is something he has not been able to do for a long time.

He still has several health related issues that he has to take care of, and my mom has already scheduled all of those appointments. He has to see a pulmonologist about his mild emphysema and his sleep apnea. Then he also has to follow up with his regular heart doctor about the abdominal aortic aneurysm that was discovered during his heart catheterization.

My mom has rescheduled her knee replacement surgery for November 3. We think that will work out much better than the previous earlier date, because my dad will be in better physical shape, and therefore he will be able to help her so much more.

As for myself, I have an appointment Monday, October 13, to see my neurosurgeon regarding my back pain and nerve damage. I am in a lot of pain right now, so I am ready to see him, needless to say.

Thank you all for your prayers and sweet thoughts for my family and me; we appreciate all of you very much.

"He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything." ~Arabic Proverb

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance....."

So glad you pa is doing better and will be able to tend to your ma next month.

Praise the Lord for family who can take turns caring for each other.

I pray this week goes fast for you and your doctor tells you something good that involves no pain or significantly less pain.

Love and prayers,

I just realized today that your mom’s surgery should be coming up this week. I am so glad to hear that your dad is doing so well. I hope that all continues to improve for him as with you and your mother. Keep me posted on your trip to the doctor – I hope he is able to give you some more advice to help you heal faster. I know this has been such a frustrating time for you and I just wanted to let you know that you have the most amazing attitude of anyone I know who has gone through all of the trials and tribulations being thrown your way over the past few months. I thank God every day for putting such great people in my path through this wonderful community of blogville.

Big Hugs!
