♫ Hark The Herald Angels Sing ♫

The Friday after Thanksgiving, we decided to put our Christmas tree up.

Ta-da!

I know, I know. You are probably thinking this right now.....

Charlie Brown (seeing the ornamented branch droop to the ground): "I've killed it. AUGHH! Everything I touch gets ruined!" (he walks away, his head hanging in shame)

*Good Grief!*

But with a little imagination, love, and tenderness, a Charlie Brown Christmas tree can be turned into this.....

Linus: "I never thought it was such a bad little tree." (wrapping his blanket around the base of the trunk) "It's not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love."

*Sigh*

I really do love our little Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

It is covered in white and multi-colored strands of lights, although I could not get them to show up in this picture to save my life. So, you will just have to trust me that our little tree is covered in lights.

It is also covered in so many ornaments, all of which have some form of special memory attached to them.

Here are just a few pictures of some of our favorite ornaments.

I got this family ornament in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, when the boys and I took a trip there with my parents.

Isn't it sweet?

It also probably goes without saying that I got Baby Girl an ornament in Gatlinburg too, and she loves it.

I truly adore all of the ornaments on our tree for one sentimental reason or another, but if I had to pick just two that are my absolute favorites, it would have to be my two angels.

My Matthew and Daniel angels to be exact.

*Sigh*

Everyone: "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

You certainly know how to cheer up a sad Christmas tree . It looks great. I haven't got mine out of the cupboard yet. As our family is not always here for christmas we downsized to a little one, but this year everyone will be here and I wish i had a big one.

Awwwww.....I love your tree!

We just got ours up night before last. I was just thinking about posting about all of my sentimental ornaments as well.
Each year when I put the ornaments on the tree that the kids have made, or the ones I've bought while traveling etc. it just warms my heart.
I can't wait to get mine done. My husband got it out of storage, put it together and we put the lights on. I have been trying to "fluff it." Tonight...out will come the ornaments, so be looking. :)
Thanks for sharing your lovely Christmas tree with us.
Love,
Valerie

Hey, sweet girl!
Your little tree is ADORABLE!!
It's a little bit about looking back in our life with those that have such special memories! I LOVED making the felt ornaments and others for the boys throughout the years! You should point out "Teddy!" I will never forget the look on Daniel's face when I gave it to him for Christmas!!!
We Love Ya'll!!!!

I love your tree Amy! I love that is is loaded with ornaments! That is how mine is right now. I'm going to be doing a post on my tree and ornaments soon. The boys did most of the decorating and it came out surprisingly well! :)
I love that so many of your ornaments hold a special meaning!

That is what I call a transformed tree!!! I love all the different "through the years" ornaments. That's exactly how my tree is...not one is alike and a story behind each one!
This post has really cheered me up! thanks Amy!

Your tree really did turn out beautifully! When I was a kid, we had this old "bottle-brush" tree we hauled around all over the world and smothered in ornaments. I always loved that... makes me think it is smothered in love. Silly, I know, but much better than those beautiful but heartless theme trees you see in stores.

Also, I love Charlie Brown Christmas. We watch it every year. My husband even found the soundtrack and we listen to it quite a bit!

I heart your angel ornaments also. Very clever idea.

When I saw your second pic of the tree I said "there ya go". We can see the lights.

I love lights. I love to drive around and look at them. I even love the house that are extravagant with loads of lights. The more the better. I love the glow!!!

I did not put up a tree nor any decorations last year. I won't put my tree up this year either. I'm scared to open the box. I'm scared to see what ornaments I will find. My recent memories are of putting up a tree with beloved and I jsut don't think I care bare it. I'm afraid laying and looking at the lights every evening will cause more heartache that fondness at this point. Is that awful or what? It's such a mix bag, this here life, huh?

"You take the good with the bad and there you have the facts of life"...
did you ever watch that show "The Facts of Life".
Love,
Paula

Love the tree! Mine is decorated with memories also. I might have to showcase a few of them in coming days. We're hallmarkers. My mom has been giving them to us for many years now. I also have several from my youngest days. Love Christmas.

What a lovely tree Amy! I love sentimental things (especially ornaments kiddies make). I had tons of homemade ornaments my kiddos made; but, they flooded in our home. I am slowly getting my collection back though :)

I have to say I am pretty envious (forgive me Lord) of your Precious Moments tree topper! I collect PM figurines and I would LOVE to have a tree topper like yours....if yours goes missing, I'm just borrowing it through the season ;)

Don't you just love how the Charlie Brown Christmas movie can be watched year after year over and over again and never get worn out! Movies like that give you such a warm feeling inside *sigh*

Thanks for sharing photos of your beautiful tree. God bless!

That is so funny that you would put up the CB tree pic because that's what I was seriously thinking. LOL But the after shot looks great. Great job!
