The Colors Of Fall (Captured By Daniel)

My son Daniel walked around our property this past weekend to try and capture some pictures of the beautiful fall colors on our property here in Crazyville. He took some beautiful pictures, if I do say so myself.;)

So, today, I thought I would share some of his pictures with you. (And ,Gina, if you're reading this, I hope that you enjoy seeing some fall colors too.)

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all." ~Stanley Horowitz

"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn." ~Elizabeth Lawrence

"I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do." ~Willa Cather

"We can learn a lot from trees: they're always grounded but never stop reaching heavenward." ~Everett Mámor

"....I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." ~Robert Frost

And even though this next picture is completely off the subject of fall colors, I took it for my sweet bloggy friend, Laura. Laura did a post titled "Eternal Perspective" that really spoke to me. The main point that she makes in this post is that time is precious. Her beautiful words reminded me of a cross stitch picture that I made when my son Matthew was born. I mentioned it to Laura in my comment on her post, and she asked me to show her a picture of the cross stitched verse that I had made. So, Laura, here it is.

I'm sure you probably noticed that the verse is hanging a little crookedly in the frame. Daniel accidentally knocked it off the wall one night during dinner causing the fabric to move inside the frame, and I just haven't stopped to "fix" it back straight. One day, there will be plenty of time for that, but for today, I think I'll leave it just how it is.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
"For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven."

This weekend I watched the fall leaves fill up the yard, the trees blowing in the cool breezes. I do so love this time of year.

I have to say Autumn is my favorite season too, and those pictures just make me love it all the more.

Your property looks just dreamy, I would love to visit you sometime and take long walks there in the cool of the evening, and I'll bring my bat to protect you from the frogs.

And you are right, these pictures are beautiful. Well done Daniel!

Amy,
If this is what Crazyville looks like, I'm moving in! The trees are beautiful, but mostly I marveled at the lovely landscape. Your little photographer has an amazing eye!

Thank you for posting the cross stitch. I agree with Mia...I think you should leave it the way it is. Kind of illustrates the point, don't you think? It is beautiful, my friend. You have so many talents!

Glad to see the comment from your mom, and know she is doing better.

You bless...

Laura

Amy,
I just finshed posting about some pretty fall trees in my town.
I clicked over to your blog and was happy to see more fall beauty.
I am just amazed by the beauty God provides for us. Seriously, I've been driving around and taking pictures while I'm at stop signs. People probably think I'm crazy.;)
My hubby did drive me around the other afternoon so he could stop or slow down and I got some good pics.
Tell your son he did a great job taking the pictures. They're all just beautiful!
