Even More Of Signs And Thoughts Of Spring

Since I am having so much fun learning to use my new camera, please indulge me with just one more Sunday post of signs and thoughts of spring. (Thanks for your cooperation.)

I realized that if I had to choose, I would rather have birds than airplanes. ~Charles Lindbergh

God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages. ~Jacques Deval

There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly. ~Richard Buckminster Fuller

But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away. ~ Robert Frost

Since the Dogwood Trees are blooming on our property, I felt like it was the perfect time to share this poem. I pray that it blesses you as much as it does Shannon and me.

The Dogwood Tree
By: Author Unknown

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew
To a towering size with a lovely hue.
Its branches were strong and interwoven
And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen.

Being distressed at the use of the wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:

"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow
To be large enough for a tree, and so
Slender and twisted it shall always be
With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.

The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown
And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.
All who see it will think of me,
Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.
Protected and cherished this tree shall be
A reflection to all of my agony."

Living here in "Dogwood Country" as I do I appreciate that humble tree. Growing up our woods were full of wild dogwood trees. Besides the willow its my favorite. The daisy pics are wonderful!
When are you going to start your Project 365? You really should share this photography gift in as many places as possible!! :)

I LOVE all your daisy pictures. (Also the little spinning daisy the 'mouse' produces as I navigate your page!) In case I haven't mentioned before - daisies are my favourite flower, God's "I love you" flower. Your pictures bless my heart. Thanks for sharing them.

What kind of camera do you own? My husband just bought me a Nikon. It's not digital, but I didn't want a digital - guess I'm old-fashioned.

Thanks for the time of refreshing,
Joy
